CCA COVID-19 Update April 25th, 2020
Dear CCA Community,
Yesterday, Governor Carney informed the state of Delaware that public schools would be closed for the remainder of the academic year. Obviously, we were all hoping to resume the school year as soon as possible, but we knew this may happen. We are grieved that we cannot finish the year with some sense of normalcy and the ability to fellowship in person. I cannot express how much we miss seeing the smiles on our student’s faces on a daily basis.
As a result of this development, we want to bring you up to speed on the following:
-
As of today, we plan to reschedule and hold graduation ceremonies for kindergarten, 6th grade, and 12th grade at a time we can have them in person. We cannot fathom a year without three of our most cherished events. Since we do not have a reopening date, we will have to make these events “to be determined” for now. As a private school, we can be flexible with our events without being encumbered by red tape. However, we know that we will need to give plenty of advance notice for planning purposes.
-
As of today, we still plan to open CCA’s Summer Break camp when we are given clearance to do so. The enrollment application is still on our website if you would like to sign up. In the event we are not allowed to operate a summer camp, we will refund your registration fees in full.

Since March 17th, we have been keeping our education moving forward through distance learning through the help of teachers, students, and parents. This has been a monumental task that has required adjustments from all involved. Thank you for making the necessary changes and having patience as we made this transition. We realize this has been a challenge for many, but hang in there…this too will pass. This test of our grit, determination, and perseverance has given us an opportunity to grow and to survive this situation. With that being said, we will continue our distance learning lifestyle for the remainder of the school year which will allow us to confidently promote students to the next grade as long as they complete their work accordingly.

Since we are a strong community that loves to be together, we would like to plan campus events to bring the school family together and have some closure to this school year as soon as we are able. We cannot imagine not seeing our families to close out the year. The event details will be forthcoming.
We cannot express enough gratitude and appreciation for everyone’s efforts to keep our CCA students engaged in their academics pursuits until the end of the year. None of us could have ever imagined this school year would take this turn, but God knows how to get us through the remainder of the year. May we all lean on our Heavenly Father for the strength, wisdom, and energy to complete this year in glorious fashion. I will leave you with one of Mrs. Bosco’s favorite scripture verses:
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. – Galatians 6:9 (NIV)
In This Together,
