Dear CCA Community,

Thank you for your patience as we delayed communication regarding finances until the federal government finalized decisions related to the stimulus plan. The federal plan is designed to provide financial relief to individuals, families, and businesses. In this communication, we will discuss our plans to continue education, how to apply for need-based tuition relief, roll out our COVID-19 Distance Learning Plan website, and announce a change to next week’s schedule for students and families.

First, the education of our students from Preschool through the 12th grade will continue and will be provided via distance learning using our Distance Learning Plan. Students will have the opportunity to continue their education and progress to the next grade level without the need for summer school or an extended school year, if they adhere to the Distance Learning Plan. In order to keep the continuity of education, we need to keep our highly qualified instructional staff employed and working to this end. Teachers are stretching themselves to deliver content in a non-traditional manner, which will help your child stay connected emotionally, academically, and spiritually to the school community. We are committed to continuing education for the fulfillment of our contractual agreements.

Not only are we looking to maintain continuity for the remainder of this year, but we are striving to be sustainable for the next year and years to come. Therefore, CCA is asking that you prayerfully consider supporting the school financially as much as possible by making stewardship decisions that will keep this vital ministry available to your children for years to come.

Secondly, Calvary Christian Academy recognizes that some of our families will be more impacted than others and as a result, we are making tuition relief available for those truly in need. Please complete the attached survey form if you need to request tuition relief. There are different options for relief.

Next, we mentioned that we were working on a website dedicated to our Distance Learning Plan. COVID19.wearecca.com is live and can be accessed from our main website or by copying the link and pasting it into your browser. On this site, you can find:

  • Head of School communications in the blog feed

  • Information on what we are expecting from students, parents, and teachers.

  • Resources for students which will include chapel services

  • Resources for parents which will include links to government agencies and more as they are added.

I want to thank Javier Santana, our marketing director, for building this website quickly.

Lastly, due to the fact that we rolled out distance learning almost immediately, and the fact that it took some students a couple of days to get fully connected and into a rhythm, we have decided to modify next week’s schedule. Instead of working on new work up until Good Friday, we are abbreviating the week to have school on Monday and Tuesday and allow Wednesday and Thursday as make up time for completing assignments before the scheduled Easter Break. We believe students, parents, and teachers could use some time to get caught up from this new way of teaching and learning.

Thank you for being flexible and resilient during this challenging time. Everyone is being asked to do more as we adjust to a temporary new normal. We are praying for the health and well-being of you and everyone in your family. Thank you for being a part of the #WeAreCCA family!

In This Together,

Aaron Coon
Head of School
